Violet Baudelaire is the eldest of the Baudelaire orphans. She specializes in mechical inventions at the age of fourteen. She has long, black hair that she ties up in a red hair ribbon when she's inventing. She becomes friends with Duncan and Isadora Quagmire who, like her and her siblings, are orphans and have been left valuable fortunes. In the 10th book Violet meets Quigley Quagmire, the third triplet who had allegedly died in the fire that killed the Quagmire parents.
